Sheeraz Qureshi, MD is a board certified, fellowship trained spinal surgeon. Dr. Qureshi completed his undergraduate education with High Honors at Rutgers University in New Jersey. He earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston where he was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. While at Tufts University, Dr. Qureshi also completed an MBA with a focus on Health Administration. Dr. Qureshi’s orthopaedic surgery training was done at Mount Sinai Hospital Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He was honored by his mentors and colleagues by being selected as the Administrative Chief Resident in his final year of training. Upon completion of his orthopaedic training, Dr. Qureshi underwent specialized training in spinal surgery at the prestigious Spine Institute at Case Western Reserve University under the direction of Dr. Henry Bohlman, who has trained more leaders in the field of spinal surgery than anyone. Dr. Qureshi was then selected as the Cervical Spine Research Society’s Traveling Fellow where he visited leading centers of spinal surgery both nationally and internationally.
Currently, Dr. Sheeraz Qureshi is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He also serves as the Chief of Spinal Trauma at Elmhurst Hospital Center. He has written several chapters for spine textbooks, along with publications for various professional journals. Dr. Qureshi specializes in the treatment of all disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. Dr. Qureshi has advanced training in the treatment of degenerative spinal conditions, spinal tumors, spinal trauma, revision spinal surgery, as well motion sparing spinal procedures including disc replacement surgery.
Dr. Qureshi was selected as a 2012 Castle Connolly Top Doctor in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery.
